Legal Officer (Planning and Property) – Social Housing
Hybrid Working | £35.00 per hour (Umbrella) | Contract

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Officer with proven experience in Social Housing legal matters to join a London Local Authority’s Legal and Democratic Services team.
The successful candidate will provide expert advice and guidance on property-related issues, including but not limited to:
- Right to Buy
- Lease Extensions
- Residents’ Conveyancing
- Collective Enfranchisement
- Licences for Alterations
- Discount Market Sales and Private Sector Leasing
Key responsibilities include preparing legal documentation, advising internal clients, supporting title investigations and land registration, and assisting with compulsory purchase order procedures. There will also be opportunities to contribute to planning, licensing, and highways legal matters and to support junior colleagues.
Applicants must possess a law degree or equivalent qualification and demonstrate experience within a local government legal department. A thorough understanding of Social Housing legislation and a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services are essential.
