We are delighted to be partnering with a long-established and highly respected regulatory body to recruit an experienced Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager. This is a key senior appointment within the organisation’s Finance team. You’ll lead the business partnering function, working closely with directorates to ensure that financial insight supports operational delivery and strategic goals. You will take the lead in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis across the organisation and its associated entities.

The regulatory body is currently undergoing a period of modernisation, including the implementation of a new finance system—an essential component of its wider transformation programme. The postholder will play a central role in embedding new processes and ways of working that deliver clarity, consistency, and financial rigour across the organisation.

Lead, mentor, and support a team of Business Accountants, fostering a collaborative, service-led approach to finance business partnering. Set the tone for performance, professional development, and a positive team culture. Provide clear direction and act as a key point of continuity in the absence of the Head of Finance.

  • Financial Planning & Analysis

Own and deliver the budgeting and forecasting cycle, ensuring robust financial planning across the organisation. Develop and maintain financial models and cost frameworks that inform business decisions and resource planning. Oversee timely and accurate management reporting, including variance analysis, KPIs and commentary for senior stakeholders. Act as a trusted partner to senior leaders, using financial insight to guide decision-making, improve performance, and manage risk. Ensure a high-quality, consistent business partnering service across directorates.

  • Systems & Financial Development

Play a lead role in the implementation and optimisation of the new finance system, particularly in reporting and business analytics. Collaborate with the wider finance and systems team to refine and improve the Chart of Accounts and reporting structures. Design and deliver training for non-financial managers to improve financial understanding and accountability across the organisation. Work closely with the Financial Controller and Treasury team on month-end, year-end, and audit processes. Provide timely, accurate information to support statutory accounts, tax submissions, and regulatory returns. Contribute to the drafting of board and committee papers, and represent Finance at senior meetings as required.

A qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent) with strong experience in financial planning and analysis. A track record of leading finance teams and delivering high-impact business partnering within complex organisations. Strong commercial awareness and the ability to communicate financial information to non-specialists. Experience working in both the not-for-profit and commercial sectors is highly desirable. A hands-on approach to financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting with advanced Excel and system skills.

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a visible and influential finance leadership role at a regulatory body that plays a vital role in upholding standards and protecting the public. With a strong reputation for integrity and excellence, the organisation is investing in its future—and this role will be instrumental in helping shape that journey.

If you’re ready to bring your expertise to a meaningful, values-led environment, submit your CV for immediate review.
