We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven business leader to join our team, focusing on growing omnichannel consulting services for commercial and medical affairs clients. In this role, you will showcase your experience as a thought leader and trusted advisor to the life sciences industry. As a senior leader in the advisory team, the Managing Director achieves success by designing novel and innovative solutions for clients, securing profitable business through sourcing, selling, and leading projects, and contributing to firm growth and development. The Managing Director will contribute to setting business direction and strategy, thought leadership, and the overall growth and scalability of the omnichannel practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive vision for the omnichannel practice, aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
- Identify market trends and client needs to create service offerings that drive growth and differentiation.
- Lead as a trusted advisor for clients; cultivate a strong understanding of clients’ needs, translating these into bespoke service offerings.
- Source from their own network, secure and lead a $3 million annual book of business; develop comprehensive sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets, deliver compelling pitches, and lead contract negotiations to secure business deals.
- Generate thought leadership to capitalise on industry trends and develop innovative solutions and capabilities.
- Assess client organisational readiness for omnichannel transformation and recommend frameworks for capability development.
- Guide clients in establishing governance structures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and cross-functional collaboration models to support omnichannel engagement, as well as change management initiatives to build internal understanding and adoption.
- Partner with clients to define omnichannel objectives and develop actionable strategies to achieve them.
- Oversee the creation of customer engagement journeys leveraging data-driven insights, customer personas, and market research.
- Provide executive-level guidance on the integration of digital platforms and emerging technologies.
- Implement best practices in content personalisation, channel optimisation, and audience segmentation.
- Develop measurement frameworks to track value and impact, analyse performance metrics, and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.
- Serve as the steward of team and company culture; foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and growth.
- Build, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of omnichannel strategists, business analysts, and consultants.
- Partner with multiple delivery teams across various accounts to successfully deliver projects with “right first time” quality.
- Lead firm-building initiatives, individual and team development, and annual strategic business planning activities.
- Collaborate in the continued growth and development of Red Nucleus.
- Establish scalable processes and frameworks for omnichannel strategy development, execution, and measurement.
- Continuously improve internal capabilities by identifying gaps and investing in new tools, technologies, and training.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal quality standards.
- Establish partnerships with external technology providers, platforms, and data analytics firms.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in the life sciences or business-related fields; Advanced degree in the Life Sciences, and/or MBA preferred.
- 10+ years in management consulting, advisory and/or digital strategy specifically for Life Sciences.
- A strong history of successfully selling, delivering and growing consulting revenues with a track record of sourced sales exceeding at least $3 million in the previous 2-3 years.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulations and compliance in omnichannel engagement.
- Extensive knowledge of digital platforms, CRM systems, analytics tools, and omnichannel engagement technologies.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to leverage external network to improve market positioning.
- Identify and pursue new business development opportunities.
- Ability to lead client work and accounts.
- Ability to attract, retain, mentor and grow team members.
- Must have a collaborative and team-based mind-set.
- Proficiency in CRM software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite, (demonstrated expertise in Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
- Must have the ability to manage work-life balance for oneself and be able to mentor team accordingly for themselves.
- Must be capable of leading complex engagements with superior practice-build and client relationship management skills.
