This role does not offer sponsorship. At Red Moor School, we donât just support pupils â we change lives. We meet children where they are, walk with them through the tough moments, and celebrate every success, big or small. Weâre looking for Teaching Assistants who bring heart, patience, curiosity, and a genuine belief that every child can grow when surrounded by the right people. If youâre someone who understands that relationships are the foundation of progress, who stays steady when things get wobbly, who sees the child behind the behaviour, and who treats each new day as a fresh start to learn and to grow, then we want to hear from you.
About the Role
Weâre looking for Teaching Assistants who bring heart, patience, curiosity, and resilience. People who understand that relationships are the foundation of progress, who remain steady when things feel difficult, who see the child behind the behaviour, and who treat every new day as a fresh opportunity to grow. Being a Teaching Assistant at Red Moor is far more than being an extra adult in the classroom. You become a trusted presence â someone who helps create moments of safety, connection, and success for pupils who may not have always felt secure in education. Youâll work closely with teachers and colleagues to create calm, structured, and meaningful learning experiences. Your role will be varied, rewarding, and impactful, supporting pupils both academically and emotionally throughout the school day.
You will:
- Support pupils one-to-one and in small groups across a range of subjects and activities
- Help implement personalised timetables, behaviour plans, and therapeutic approaches
- Build strong, trusting relationships that support pupilsâ social and emotional development
- Prepare resources and activities that bring learning to life
- Support pupils during educational visits, off-site activities, and enrichment opportunities
- Maintain clear and accurate records that contribute to each pupilâs wider support plan
- Support pupil transport for bespoke provision or planned off-site activities
Every day looks a little different â because our pupils need different things at different times â and thatâs exactly what makes this role so meaningful.
What Weâre Looking For
Weâre looking for someone who:
- Has GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Brings a calm, consistent, and caring approach, especially during moments of challenge
- Enjoys working with young people and believes education should adapt around individual needs
- Builds positive, respectful relationships with pupils and colleagues
- Works well as part of a supportive team, while also using initiative and good judgement
- Believes in potential, not labels, and doesnât give up when things get tough
If youâre someone who wants to truly understand young people â not just manage behaviour â youâll thrive at Red Moor School.
