Red Loft is a housing development and regeneration consultancy based in London. We work with Registered Providers, Local Authorities and Developers throughout London, the South East and South West. Our work includes managing development projects from concept through to completion, as well as a diverse range of development consultancy advice and services, including feasibility reports, financial viability assessments, land finding and agency, development strategies and procedures, development mentoring and training, Homes England and GLA compliance, and Shared Ownership sales, marketing and letting services.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced development professional to play a key role on a diverse portfolio of housing development and regeneration projects. Working directly with local authorities, housing providers and private sector clients, you will help shape development strategies, support project delivery and provide commercial advice from inception through to completion.
We are looking for a candidate who can take ownership of projects and workstreams from day one, managing client relationships and supporting the successful delivery of development objectives. This includes:
- Project Management: Manage development projects through all stages of the development process, coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams and supporting delivery against programme, budget and project objectives.
- Development Strategy: Advise clients on development opportunities, delivery strategies, procurement routes and regeneration approaches.
- Financial Viability & Appraisals: Prepare and review financial appraisals, viability assessments, cashflow forecasts and development business cases, providing clear recommendations to clients.
- Risk Management: Identify, monitor and report on project risks, developing mitigation strategies and supporting clients in managing key development challenges.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, local authorities, funding bodies and delivery partners.
- Reporting & Presentations: Prepare and present high quality reports, business cases and recommendations to clients, boards and senior stakeholders.
- Business Development: Support the preparation of fee proposals, framework opportunities and wider business development activities.
- Mentoring & Team Support: Provide guidance and support to junior team members and contribute to the continued growth of the Development Consultancy Team.
- General Duties: Carry out other duties as required by Directors, Partners and senior members of the team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience within a housing association, local authority, consultancy or developer.
- Experience supporting or managing housing development and/or regeneration projects through multiple stages of the development process.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects.
- Proactive, resourceful and commercially aware, with a problem solving mindset.
- Enthusiastic individual committed to continuous professional development.
- A passion for the built environment and enhancing communities.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of development viability and delivery.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of team members, both internally and externally.
- Strong analytical and report writing skills.
- Demonstrate a commitment to providing a high standard of client care.
- Ability to manage deadlines and work across multiple projects and clients simultaneously.
- Willing to work in the Red Loft office a minimum of 3 days a week to collaborate with colleagues and support team development.
- Willing to travel to sites across London and the South East as required.
Desirable:
- Professional membership of a relevant body (RICS, RTPI, RIBA, CIOB, APM, etc.) or progress towards chartership.
- Full, clean driving licence.
- Experience of working with local authorities, housing associations or public sector clients.
- Experience of estate regeneration, affordable housing delivery or development partnership procurement.
- Knowledge of local authority governance, HRA business planning or affordable housing funding programmes.
- Experience of managing or mentoring junior team members.
- Existing professional network within the housing, regeneration or development sector.
