About the role

This is a hands-on Marketing Manager role for someone who has already shown they can manage projects, work independently, build trusted relationships, and is now ready to take on a broader role with ownership of day-to-day marketing activity. The successful candidate will have confidence, good writing skills, and will understand digital marketing. Good time management, attention to detail, and an ability to work under pressure are key skills.

Reporting to and working closely with the Client & Business Development Director, and working with our PR & Communications Consultant and practice management team, you will help shape and deliver marketing activity across events, website, content, branding, digital channels, legal directories and industry awards, and client mailing lists.

  • Managing website updates and other digital channels, including reporting on engagement and analytics.
  • Supporting barristers with effective personal marketing, including website profiles, event follow-up and client-facing materials.
  • Maintaining and improving client mailing lists and ensuring communications are targeted, accurate, and GDPR-compliant.
  • Supporting internal communications so members and staff know about relevant marketing activity, opportunities, and deadlines.
  • Undertaking competitor and market analysis to identify opportunities for Chambers and its members.
  • Liaising with external suppliers for design, digital, and event support.

Person specification

  • Strong project and events management skills and an ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • A strong understanding of digital marketing tools and platforms including websites, e-mail marketing, social media, and analytics.
  • Sound judgement, including knowing when to act independently and when to seek guidance.
  • A strong service ethic and an understanding of what good internal and external client service looks like in a professional services environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a good eye for design, presentation, and brand consistency.
  • Confidence and interpersonal skills to build trust quickly with stakeholders who have high standards.
  • An ability to “get on with things” without close supervision, self-direct and take ownership of day-to-day activity.
  • Curiosity about the legal market and an interest in learning about individual barristers and their work, as well as those who instruct them.
  • The successful candidate will likely have more than 5 years’ experience gained in marketing within a legal services or other professional services environment. A relevant degree, CIM qualification, or equivalent professional experience would be desirable.
