WASTE OPERATIONS MANAGER WITH FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR DEPOT OR AREA INCLUDING FULL P&L MANAGEMENT REQUIRED TO OVERSEE SIZABLE WASTE AND RECYCLING SERVICES IN THE WEST MIDLANDS.
SALARY: Negotiable around the £55-65K mark plus Car / Allowance, Bonus & Benefits.
LOCATION: Birmingham Area.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN A WASTE MANAGEMENT ESSENTIAL AS A: Depot Manager, Operations Manager, Area Manager, Regional Manager, General Manager, Director, Service Delivery Manager.
YOU WILL HAVE MANAGED A WASTE COLLECTIONS OPERATION IN: Waste Management, Plastics Recycling, Anaerobic Digestion, Hazardous Waste, Metal Recycling, Clinical Waste, Skip Hire, Biomass, Green Waste or similar.
ROLE & EXPERIENCE:
- You will be able to forecast and prepare budgets, and manage P & L, as you will be required to maximise the profitability of the operation and implement strict cost controls.
- You will be responsible for a large team of staff and waste collection vehicles.
- You will deliver a motivated and engaged workforce and an effective service, managing all resources and staff at your disposal and working within the terms of the service levels agreed with the client.
- You will have a strong commercial understanding of the waste management industry or the industry that you work within and have evidence of overachieving budgets and KPIs.
- A team player and open communicator. You will work closely with the sales division.
- You will understand compliance and have built strong relationships with bodies such as the EA and HSE. You may also have experience working within ISO standards.
- A transport CPC in Road Haulage is highly desirable.
- Any COTC in waste management a plus.
- You MUST be committed to inspiring and enforcing a positive Health and Safety ethic within the team, ensuring the correct resources for a safe working environment are made available. IOSH & NEBOSH are desirable.
