We're seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Building Surveyor to join a growing client-side property team. This is an excellent opportunity for an MRICS-qualified surveyor who enjoys managing a varied commercial portfolio and delivering professional and project-led surveying services across high-value assets.
The Role
As Senior Building Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing a diverse commercial property portfolio, providing expert advice across project management, dilapidations, licences to alter, and wider building consultancy matters. Working closely with internal stakeholders, consultants, landlords, and occupiers, you will help drive asset performance, compliance, and value enhancement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a range of building surveying projects across commercial assets
- Deliver project management services from inception through to completion
- Manage and negotiate dilapidations matters on behalf of the client
- Review and oversee Licence to Alter applications and associated works
- Undertake contract administration and monitor project delivery
- Provide technical due diligence and professional building consultancy advice
- Manage external consultants, contractors, and professional teams
- Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, health & safety, and building regulations
- Support asset management and strategic property initiatives
About You
- MRICS / Chartered Building Surveyor qualification
- Proven experience within commercial property environments
- Strong background in project management and contract administration
- Experience handling dilapidations and Licence to Alter matters
- Previous consultancy and/or client-side experience preferred
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Commercially aware with strong problem-solving ability
- Self-motivated, organised, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
