Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager or Technical Delivery Manager.
  • Strong understanding of application modernisation and .NET environments.
  • Experience working with legacy technologies including Excel/VBA, MS Access, VB/VB6 and/or PowerBuilder.
  • Experience delivering applications into Azure and/or OpenShift container platforms.
  • Good understanding of Agile, DevOps, CI/CD and application migration projects.
  • Strong stakeholder management and requirements gathering skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Several years of experience delivering application modernisation projects.
  • We require full and unrestricted right to work in the UK, and we cannot offer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the modernisation of legacy business applications into modern .NET solutions deployed within Azure and OpenShift environments.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, developers, architects and infrastructure teams to drive successful application transformation projects.
  • Bridge the gap between business and technology teams throughout the full application lifecycle.
  • Lead discovery and requirements workshops.
  • Work directly with application owners and business users.
  • Challenge legacy processes and identify modernisation opportunities.
  • Present technical solutions in business-friendly language.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and competing priorities.
  • Produce project updates and executive-level reporting.

We are working with a prestigious insurance client on a highly visible Technical Project Manager opportunity focused on application modernisation. The role is based in London with attendance in our EC1 office required 2 days per week, alongside 3 days remote working. This is an initial 4-6 month contract with likely extensions, offered inside IR35 at a rate of £360-£370 per day. We operate in a collaborative environment with business stakeholders, developers, architects and infrastructure teams, and we are seeking a technically credible project manager to help guide legacy applications through transformation into modern .NET solutions deployed in Azure and OpenShift environments.
