We are seeking a Senior Architect or Senior Architectural Technologist with strong technical capability and proven experience in cladding remediation and retrofit projects. The role will suit a confident Revit user who can lead technical design packages, coordinate consultants, and support compliance with current Building Safety legislation and Gateway processes. This is a hands-on technical role, working closely with project teams, clients, and contractors across residential and mixed-use projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver technical design packages for cladding remediation and retrofit projects
- Produce and coordinate detailed Revit models, drawings, and specifications
- Ensure designs comply with Building Safety Act 2022 and associated secondary legislation
- Support and undertake duties relating to BRPD (Building Regulations Principal Designer) where required
- Prepare and contribute to submissions for the Gateway 1, 2 and 3 process
- Coordinate external consultants and specialist subcontractor design information
- Review contractor proposals, technical details, and materials
- Identify, manage, and mitigate technical and regulatory risks
- Support junior team members and contribute to technical reviews
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and statutory bodies as required
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Qualified Architect or Architectural Technologist
- Strong Revit proficiency (essential)
- 3–5 years’ experience in cladding remediation, façade replacement, or retrofit projects
- Technically sound with excellent knowledge of construction detailing
- Good working knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022
- Familiarity with the Gateway process
- Understanding of BRPD responsibilities and design risk management
- Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong communication and coordination skills
Desirable
- Experience working on Higher-Risk Buildings
- Previous involvement in BRPD roles or support functions
- Knowledge of fire safety strategies, façade systems, and compliance pathways
- Immediate or short-notice availability
