We are seeking a talented, motivated, and detail-oriented Part II Architectural Assistant to join our busy studio. In this role, you will work closely with senior architects and project leads across all RIBA Plan of Work stages - from initial concept and planning through to detailed design and construction delivery.
The ideal candidate will possess strong design flair, excellent technical knowledge, and proven proficiency in producing accurate production packages using Revit and AutoCAD.
Key Responsibilities- Design & Technical Production
- BIM & Drafting: Produce high-quality, accurate 2D drawings in AutoCAD and comprehensive 3D BIM models in Revit for planning applications, tender packages, and construction documentation.
- Detailing: Assist in the preparation of detailed architectural construction drawings, schedules (doors, windows, finishes), and specifications.
- Design Development: Contribute creative design ideas and visualizations during the early concept and feasibility stages.
- Project & Team Coordination
- Collaboration: Coordinate with internal project teams and integrate packages from external consultants (structural, MEP, etc.) into the main architectural model.
- Site Support: Attend site meetings and assist with contract administration duties and site inspections under the guidance of a registered Architect.
- Regulations: Ensure all designs and technical drawings comply with local building regulations, planning policies, and office standards.
- Education & Experience
- Part II Qualification: RIBA Part II qualification.
- Studio Experience: Typically 1-3 years of post-Part II or relevant post-Part I experience within a professional architectural practice.
- Software Proficiency
- Revit: Strong working knowledge of Revit is essential. Experience with parametric modeling, families, and working within a collaborative central model environment.
- AutoCAD: Proficient in 2D drafting, managing layers, Xrefs, and standard detailing protocols.
- Visualisation & Other Tools: Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and rendering software (e.g., Enscape, Lumion, or V-Ray) is highly desirable.
- Core Competencies
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for writing reports, presenting ideas, and liaising with clients or contractors.
- Problem Solving: A sharp eye for detail and a proactive approach to resolving technical design conflicts.
- Time Management: Ability to manage deadlines effectively across multiple active projects.
