My well established construction client specialising in refurbishment and fit-out projects, is actively looking to appoint a Graduate or Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Oxford. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their commercial career within a supportive construction environment, gaining hands-on experience across a range of refurbishment projects.
The Role
- Working alongside experienced commercial and project management professionals, you will support the financial and commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to completion.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation and management of project budgets and cost plans
- Supporting the procurement and subcontractor tendering process
- Reviewing subcontractor quotations and preparing comparisons
- Assisting with valuations, variations and change control
- Monitoring project costs and maintaining accurate commercial records
- Supporting the preparation of payment applications and final accounts
- Assisting with subcontractor and client meetings
- Working closely with site and project teams to understand project progress and commercial performance
- Developing your knowledge of contracts, procurement and construction cost management
I am looking for a motivated and commercially minded individual who is keen to build a long-term career in quantity surveying.
You may be:
- A Graduate Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in your career
- An Assistant Quantity Surveyor with some construction experience
- A recent graduate with a relevant degree such as Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Construction Management
- Working towards, or interested in pursuing, a professional qualification such as RICS
- Experience within refurbishment, fit-out or general building construction would be advantageous, although a strong attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.
