A leading international organisation within the construction and building technology sector is seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to take full commercial responsibility for its South West Region.
The Role
Reporting to the UK Sales Manager, you will take ownership of a region covering the South West of England.
You will be based within the area to manage and maintain key customer relationships, but also comfortable covering a large regional patch.
Due to its size, occasional overnight stays will be required.
You will develop strong, commercially focused relationships with installers, distributors, and key stakeholders across the construction sector, creating and executing a regional sales plan aligned to customer needs and company growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales and relationship management with B2B customers
- Maintain and grow existing accounts through proactive engagement and opportunity development
- Identify and win new business through structured prospecting
- Prepare proposals and provide comprehensive product and service information
- Support customers with technical advice and on-site problem-solving
- Provide market insight (market share, pricing trends, competitor activity)
- Contribute to regional forecasting and annual budget planning
About You
- Ideally degree educated with evidence of formal sales training
- Minimum 5 years’ proven sales success ideally within the UK construction sector
- Experience selling to installers and distributors
- Direct involvement in commercial specification work is highly desirable
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Technically minded with the ability to assess feasibility and advise customers
- Self-motivated, structured, and comfortable working autonomously
