RED Industries Ltd are an ambitious Company who want to deliver the best professional waste management solutions across the UK. We are on a journey to cement our place as the UK's premier waste management Company, and we are now in a position to recruit additional team members to work on our waste management process, based at our Brownhills facility.

Working Hours: 8AM to 5PM (Monday to Friday)

Objective of the role: The Site Operative position is key to the site's efficiency and continued success. Reporting into the Site Team Leader and Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the unloading of incoming deliveries of waste materials to the site. Working with the chemist team you will ensure that incoming materials are inspected and stored correctly, prior to being treated and despatched from site.

Main Duties:

  • Complete all pre-use FLT inspections, reporting any faults to Management.
  • Safely operate a counterbalance FLT in line with the companies P.A.S.S policy.
  • Main reception team to receive incoming deliveries from our customer base.
  • Unloading of incoming loads into inspection bays for Chemist/Waste Checkers to inspect the load.
  • Weighing of incoming loads on the site weighbridge prior to unloading the vehicle.
  • Weighing of individual items on pallet scales if they are priced by weight.
  • Separation and segregation of inspected waste to ensure all waste placed into storage bays are not leaking, are safe without the chance of collapse occurring and waste is compatible to be stored in storage bay.
  • Housekeeping activities including sweeping, litter picking and drum crushing.
  • There may be instances where other operatives may require support in their roles in busy periods – as such there may be a requirement to support them in their duties. A reasonable request may be made by Site Management to do as such.

Critical Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Prior to Employment:

  • FLT counterbalance
  • Experience of working in the Hazardous Waste Sector (ideal)
  • Warehousing experience (Ideal)
  • Good team player (essential)
  • Ability to work and contribute towards health and safety driven environment (essential)
