We are seeking a proactive Trade Parts Business Development Manager to join our team. This role involves engaging with franchise partners and trade customers to drive increased participation in key manufacturer programmes and maximise cost efficiencies for our trade parts operations. You will play a crucial role in enhancing trade customer engagement and growing the sales of franchise parts.

Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in business development, supplier relationship management, and automotive trade parts sales
  • Strong commercial acumen with an ability to drive cost efficiencies and customer engagement
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain strong business relationships
  • Ability to analyse sales data, identify trends, and implement strategies to optimise performance
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the designated business area as required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key contacts within our trade parts customers and franchise partners
  • Implement a structured visit schedule, including weekly contact with at least five trade customers and physical or virtual visits to a minimum of six different trade customers per month
  • Plan and execute quarterly supplier meetings, ensuring face-to-face engagement with representatives from the top 10 trade customers
  • Collaborate with internal parts managers and Directors to set individual customer sales targets and track their performance
  • Provide monthly reports comparing gross margin achievements against defined targets
  • Benchmark each franchise partner’s trade parts programme, optimising profit returns from optimised purchasing suggestions
  • Identify and address customer ‘leakage’ to optimise engagement and purchasing levels
  • Research and recommend new supplier opportunities, including non-OE, to enhance product offerings
  • Identify and generate leads for potential new trade parts customers, including further opportunities with the existing customer base
