We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our award-winning team at Bedruthan Hotel and Spa. You’ll support the Senior Sous Chef in leading a passionate brigade, running smooth and efficient services, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, and organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef who’s ready to step up, take ownership, and grow in a dynamic, sustainability-focused kitchen on the Cornish coast.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Support the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef in all aspects of kitchen management
- Run and supervise services to a 2 Rosette standard and in our family restaurant, Ogo
- Maintain calm, clean, and efficient working conditions
- Mentor and train junior team members
- Contribute creative ideas to menu planning
- Uphold food hygiene and kitchen safety standards
- Manage stock levels, deliveries, and minimise waste
- Lead by example and promote a positive kitchen culture
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous in a quality-driven kitchen
- Food hygiene and safety certificates (Level 2 or higher preferred)
- Knowledge of modern and classic cooking techniques
