Permanent | Full-time | Bedruthan & Scarlet Hotels | Facilities Management Development Opportunity

Keep something special running beautifully. Behind every great stay is a huge amount of work guests never see. From our guest bedrooms and spa to plant rooms, leisure facilities, staff accommodation and grounds, our Property & Maintenance team keeps Bedruthan and Scarlet safe, comfortable and running beautifully.

We're looking for a practical, dependable and curious Maintenance Operative who enjoys solving problems and is ready to take the next step in their career. Working alongside our Hotel Property Manager, you'll continue using your hands-on maintenance skills while gaining valuable experience in Facilities Management, compliance, planned maintenance and contractor management.

Why this role stands out

  • Hands-on maintenance – keep our hotels, facilities and grounds working at their best
  • Compliance – gain experience across fire, water, electrical, gas, lifts, pool and spa systems and more
  • Planned maintenance – help prevent problems rather than simply react to them
  • Contractor management – coordinate suppliers, planned works and permits
  • Facilities Management – develop experience with work orders, assets, records and reporting
  • Future-focused – support sustainability and improvements while building your career

What you'll be doing

You'll carry out inspections, reactive repairs and planned maintenance, raise and monitor work orders, support statutory compliance and coordinate contractors and suppliers. You'll also maintain accurate records and respond to maintenance requests from guests and colleagues with a helpful, professional approach.

What you'll bring

You'll have previous experience in maintenance, property, building services or a relevant trade, alongside good organisation, attention to detail and a practical approach to problem solving. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, notices the details, follows things through and genuinely wants to learn. A full UK driving licence is desirable.

Where could this take you?

This role is an opportunity to broaden your experience beyond hands-on maintenance and develop the skills needed for a future in Facilities Management. You'll learn alongside an experienced team and gain exposure to PPM, compliance, contractors, asset management and the wider operation of two unique hotels.

And because you're joining Red Hotels...

  • Β£14 per hour, plus a share of hotel tips (approx. Β£1 per hour)
  • Full-time contract over a 5-day working week.
  • Performance Boost Scheme - The opportunity to earn more on top of base pay.
  • A people-centric working environment.
  • Learning, development and internal progression opportunities.
  • 28 days' holiday, plus an extra day after your first years' service.
  • Long service award - enjoy a night's stay on us after your first year.
  • 40% off food and drink, plus team discounts across hotel services.
  • Local partnership discounts, Health Shield Healthcare Plan and wellbeing support.
  • Temporary on-site team accommodation, free parking, team socials and celebration events.
