We are looking for an experienced Data Management Specialist with strong hands‑on expertise in Alation Data Catalog.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, configure and administer the Alation Data Catalog platform.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and platform maintenance.
  • Lead metadata onboarding and tool hydration activities.
  • Migrate existing metadata assets into Alation.
  • Configure and maintain the business glossary, data catalogue and stewardship capabilities.
  • Support the implementation of data lineage and governance workflows.
  • Integrate Alation with enterprise databases, data platforms, BI tools and wider governance technologies.
  • Work with Data Governance, Data Management and business stakeholders to improve metadata quality.
  • Improve the discoverability, usability and adoption of data assets across the organisation.
  • Troubleshoot platform, configuration and integration issues.
  • Support the development of Alation standards, processes and operating procedures
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Alation Data Catalog.
  • Proven experience setting up, configuring and administering Alation.
  • Experience delivering metadata onboarding and tool hydration activities.
  • Experience migrating existing metadata assets into Alation.
  • Strong understanding of metadata management, data cataloguing and data governance.
  • Experience configuring business glossaries, stewardship workflows and data lineage.
  • Experience integrating Alation with enterprise data sources, databases and BI platforms.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across technical, governance and business teams.
  • Ability to investigate and resolve Alation platform and integration issues.
