We are seeking two experienced Technical Superintendents to join our engineering team, supporting our diverse fleet across conventional ferries, high-speed craft, and freight only vessels. These are critical leadership roles responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of assigned vessels. Working closely with onboard crews and shore-based teams, you will play a key role in delivering high standards of technical reliability, safety, and performance across the fleet.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the technical operation, maintenance, and repair of assigned vessels (Ferries or Hi-Speed & Red Kestrel)
- Ensure full compliance with statutory, class, and company requirements
- Manage planned maintenance systems, defect resolution, and dry-docking activities
- Drive continuous improvement in safety, reliability, and operational efficiency
- Monitor performance and implement solutions to optimise vessel availability
- Manage budgets, control costs, and oversee contractors and suppliers
- Lead technical investigations and implement corrective and preventative actions
- Build strong relationships with vessel teams and cross-functional stakeholders
We are looking for motivated and experienced professionals who bring both technical expertise and strong leadership capability:
- Proven experience in a Technical Superintendent or senior marine engineering role
- Background in either: Passenger ferry operations, or High-speed craft / specialist vessels
- A strong people leader who can inspire, support, and develop teams both onboard and ashore
- An excellent communicator, confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders
- A collaborative mindset — someone who works cross-functionally and builds strong relationships
- Strong technical knowledge of marine systems and relevant maritime regulations
