Our ships carry in excess of 3 million passengers each year and we are proud to be the gateway to the Isle of Wight. Our on-board outlets offer hot food, quality coffee and a range of tasty snacks, day and night, and can cater for up to 800 passengers per sailing.
We are currently looking for a full time On-Board Services Officer to join the Passenger Operations team. You will be working as part of a diverse and unique team on board our raptor class ferries, not only providing and managing the delivery of a first-class service to our customers, but primarily looking after their safety and proficiently leading the Passenger Operations team in the event of an emergency.
Working under the guidance and instruction of the Passenger Operations Manager and Ship’s Master, this fast-paced but exciting role is responsible for managing the performance and day-to-day duties of the Passenger Operations team on board, ensuring that health and safety is never compromised, and the multi-site food, beverage and retail facilities are running smoothly and profitably in line with demand and the commercial strategy.
Other main duties include working closely with other departments on board and ashore to ensure the ships are able to operate in line with resourcing requirements, and that the ship’s accommodation is continually maintained to the highest standards.
Applicants should have good management and leadership experience within a high-volume customer-orientated and preferably food and beverage/ retail environment, together with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and commercial acumen.
Hours are 41 hours per week (average), worked on a rostered 4 days on 4 days off shift pattern, including bank holidays, varying between early starts, late finishes, and night shifts.
Applicants for this role should possess or be willing to undertake the following certification:
- A valid ENG1 certificate
- Raptor Safety Familiarisation Stage 1-4
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (minimum), Level 3 preferred
- STCW Medical First Aid Proficiency at Sea with AED Training
- STCW Personal Sea Survival Techniques
