We are looking to temporary resource the Business Services team with an experienced HR professional or administrator who can deliver established tasks and also development tasks to include review, improve and help develop our people processes, systems and practices, ensuring they are fit for purpose, compliant and support the ongoing needs of the business.


The role:

Working as part of our Business Services team, you will be instrumental in reviewing and developing REDs HR systems, processes and procedures.

We are looking for an experienced HR professional or experienced Administrator with a good knowledge and experience of HR to carry out an analysis of our existing systems, audit the existing data across the systems, develop process and documentation alongside delivering the day-to-day HR administration tasks.

Duties will include:

Established tasks:

  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
  • Coordinate and deliver onboarding of new starters including documentation and induction tasks
  • Prepare and issue documents such as employee contracts, contractual changes, leaver documentation other HR correspondence.
  • Arrange and maintain training records, monitor training requirements.
  • Coordinate probation reviews, appraisals, and other employee review processes.
  • Produce HR reports and management information to support business planning, compliance, and decision-making.
  • Provide day-to-day HR administrative support and contribute to the ongoing development of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Provide additional day-to-day Admin support within the Team, for example answering phone calls, handling visitors on site etc.
  • General tasks to ensure the smooth running of the company admin systems and office
  • Supporting Payroll would be an advantage but not essential.

Development tasks:

  • Audit and reconcile employee data across the HR systems to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement within HR systems, processes, and procedures, making recommendations and supporting the development and rollout of these where appropriate.
  • Support the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of HR systems and digital processes.
  • Assist with system enhancements, process improvements, and procedural updates, including user support and training.

Essential:

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Proficient in working with HR and business systems.
  • Knowledge of digital HR systems.
  • Previous experience in an HR role
  • Good understanding of recruitment, onboarding, training, and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Experience supporting system implementations or process improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of HR best practice [or go as far as to say HR legislation]
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Professional, discreet, and able to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Desirable:

  • Experience using payroll systems.
  • Knowledge of Employment Law.
  • Sage Accounts experience.
  • Knowledge of HR business systems (RED uses PeopleHR and/or Competency Cloud)

The Role is expected to be 3 months, full time based on the Hexham office (37.5hrs).

With further engagement there is potential scope for part time / reduced hours (expected min hours would be 30 hours) for the right candidate.
