As a Senior Game Developer, you will be working in the Red Engine Digital team. Alongside the Technology team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining our in-venue gaming suite across both of our Flight Club and Electric Shuffle brands. You’ll work with our in-house team of developers, concept artist and games artist to engineer and build the gaming suite in Unity/Godot and integrate with our other in-house systems. This will run alongside feature improvements and updates to the existing in-venue software. As the gaming software is always evolving, you’ll also have a voice in designing new features and games to support the brand as we grow. Innovation is one of our key values, so you’ll be keen to evaluate ideas and new technology to drive the product forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing new games and interactive features
- Maintaining, updating and optimising the current in-venue gaming systems
- Deliver clean, reliable code to support maintenance and scalability as the business grows
- Write and maintain unit tests
- Be actively involved in design discussions and prototyping
- Reporting on progress of deliverables with the Digital Director and wider stakeholders
- Working with the wider Gaming squad to design, develop and deliver the agreed functionality using an agile framework
- Develop process for the continued update and delivery of new software
- Provide direction and mentorship to the wider Digital Gaming team
To be successful in this role, you’ll:
- Be enthusiastic, driven and meticulous
- Have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a similar role
- Commercial experience with Unity 3D and C#
- Experience with the Godot game engine a plus
- Comfortable profiling and optimising games
- Experience working with hardware limitations in mind (e.g. mobile)
- Understanding of graphics, performance issues and trade-offs
- Be experienced in working with GIT based code repositories
- Have proven ability to deliver your part of the project on time and to the desired quality
- Be able to provide examples of previous work for review
