A well-established, FCA-regulated general insurance business on the outskirts of Bolton (Egerton) is expanding its motor recoveries team and looking for a Recovery Claims Handler to manage non-fault motor claims from first notification through to final settlement and recovery of outlay. If you enjoy the satisfaction of getting the result – tracing liability, negotiating hard and bringing the money back in – this is a technical, fast-paced role with full support, fully funded CII qualifications and coaching from a dedicated in-house trainer.
What you'll be doing:
- Manage a portfolio of non-fault motor recovery claims from FNOL through to settlement.
- Pursue recovery of outlay from third parties and their insurers – uninsured loss recovery, negotiation and settlement.

- Liaise professionally with insurers, solicitors and accident management companies, including credit hire and intervention queries.
- Recognise and escalate potentially fraudulent activity.
- Prioritise your caseload to hit recovery targets while supporting wider team duties.
What you'll need:
- Proven experience in motor claims recoveries – e.g. uninsured loss recovery, subrogation, outlay recovery or credit hire negotiation.
- Confident negotiation and persuasive communication skills, written and verbal.
- Working knowledge of FCA and FOS requirements and general claims compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail and confidence using multiple systems.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above in English and Maths.
- Willing to work towards the CII Certificate, fully funded and supported.
What you'll get:
- Sociable hours – Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm (35-hour week), with flexible start/finish and hybrid working after a successful probation.
- Annual salary reviews and a recognition bonus of up to £300 for going above and beyond.

- Free on-site parking, casual dress with free branded clothing, and a cycle-to-work scheme.
