We are working on behalf of an engineering business seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with strong knowledge of pump systems to join their specialist technical team.
This is a highly varied and technically focused role where you will support the full engineering lifecycle — from technical proposals and concept development through to testing and customer support. The successful candidate will act as a key technical point of contact on customer and supplier meetings, so the ability to confidently explain engineering concepts and communicate professionally is essential.
This role would suit somebody from a pump manufacturing, pump systems, fluid handling, or specialist engineering solutions background who enjoys combining technical engineering with customer-facing communication.
The position will involve overseeing engineering activities and supporting junior engineers where required, although this is not a direct line management role.
The Role- Supporting engineering projects from concept through to testing and delivery
- Preparing technical proposals and engineering documentation
- Working with fluid systems, pumps, piping systems, and associated equipment
- Supporting customers and suppliers on technical calls and discussions
- Providing technical guidance across engineering activities
- Collaborating with suppliers and sourcing specialist components
- Assisting with technical problem solving and system improvements
- Supporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and project delivery
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Previous experience within pump manufacturing, pump distribution/reselling, fluid systems, or process engineering
- Strong understanding of pumps, fluid flow, piping systems, and associated mechanical equipment
- Comfortable speaking with customers and explaining technical concepts clearly
- Strong commercial awareness and practical engineering mindset
- Able to think independently and work methodically
- CAD or 3D modelling software
- CFD or FEA analysis tools
- Knowledge of spraying systems, nozzles, or mixing systems
