We are supporting a highly innovative advanced materials manufacturer based in the Kingdom of Bahrain in the search for a Plant Manager to lead the next phase of growth for their specialist composites manufacturing facility. This is not a traditional production management role. The business operates a unique, highly automated manufacturing process supplying advanced reinforcement products to customers worldwide. With significant growth plans, investment opportunities, and new product development initiatives underway, the successful candidate will become a key member of the leadership team and effectively act as the Managing Director's number two. The facility employs approximately 25 people and operates within a lean, entrepreneurial environment where every team member plays an important role in the success of the business.

The Opportunity

You will take responsibility for the overall performance of the manufacturing facility, including:

  • Production and operational performance
  • Health, Safety & Environmental management
  • Maintenance and equipment reliability
  • Warehouse and inventory management
  • Quality and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Workforce leadership and development
  • Operational planning and resource management
  • New product development support
  • Process optimisation and future growth projects

This role offers the opportunity to shape the future direction of the business rather than simply maintain existing operations. The company is actively exploring new materials, new applications, sustainability initiatives, process improvements and emerging technologies, including AI-driven manufacturing solutions.

What We're Looking For

We are keen to speak with experienced manufacturing leaders who can demonstrate:

  • Plant Management, Operations Management, General Management or Manufacturing Leadership experience
  • Experience within composites, advanced materials, technical textiles, nonwovens, polymers, chemicals or related manufacturing sectors
  • Strong understanding of composite manufacturing processes and customer applications
  • Experience supporting product development, technical innovation or process improvement activities
  • A hands-on leadership style suited to a lean SME environment
  • Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement capability
  • Commercial awareness and customer-focused thinking
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and driving operational performance

Experience with composite technologies such as prepreg, SMC, infusion, RTM, pultrusion, compression moulding or similar manufacturing processes would be highly advantageous.

Why Join?

  • Senior leadership position within a growing international manufacturer
  • Opportunity to influence strategy, innovation and future product development
  • Tax-free income in Bahrain
  • Relocation support available
  • Work alongside an experienced leadership team with a planned handover from a long-serving Plant Manager
  • Genuine opportunity to make a significant impact on the future growth of the business

This position would particularly suit an experienced Plant Manager, Operations Manager, Technical Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Head of Operations, Head of Technical, General Manager or senior composites professional seeking a broader leadership role within an innovative and growing business.
