We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Consultant in Emergency Medicine to join our client’s private hospital based on a stunning Caribbean island. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality emergency care to a diverse patient population within a dynamic and fast-paced clinical environment, while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver immediate assessment, resuscitation, and stabilisation for patients presenting with acute medical conditions and traumatic injuries.
  • Conduct thorough diagnostic evaluations and formulate comprehensive management plans in collaboration with specialist colleagues.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and mentorship to junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff in emergency medicine protocols and procedures.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless continuity of care for admitted and referred patients.
  • Participate in on-call rotas and respond to emergency situations as required, including mass casualty incidents and public health emergencies.

Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MD or equivalent) from a recognised institution.
  • Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (e.g. ABEM, CCFP-EM, or equivalent).
  • Valid, unrestricted medical licence or eligibility for licensure in the Cayman Islands.
  • 3–5 years’ post-residency experience in a busy, high-volume Emergency Department.
  • Current ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications.
  • Must be eligible for medical registration in the Cayman Islands. Provisional registration is available for applicants who qualified in Australia, Canada, Jamaica, New Zealand, South Africa, the UK, or the USA.
