Overview

Regulatory Specialist UK & Ireland role at Red Bull based in London, UK. The UK & IE Regulatory Affairs Specialist supports regulatory compliance and regulatory policy matters in the United Kingdom and Ireland, including monitoring and implementing regulatory changes related to marketing, advertising, and labelling approvals, and monitoring regulatory developments impacting Red Bull products and assets. The role also supports the United Kingdom Regulatory & Government Affairs Manager on regulatory and legislative changes that could impact current or future Red Bull products and assets.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and analysis of regulatory developments in the United Kingdom and Ireland across food, labelling, advertising, product & packaging, taxation, and related areas, including monitoring trade policy developments by UK Government Departments and reporting on the progress of relevant free trade agreements (FTAs).
  • Collation and analysis of data on strategic priorities (e.g., recycling and collection rates for beverage packaging, market data, energy drink consumption statistics). Monitor Parliament and devolved nations for regulatory topics relevant to Red Bull’s interests. Engage with external advisors on trade policy, data, and sustainability topics.
  • Support to the UK & Ireland Regulatory and Government Affairs Manager in executing Red Bull’s advocacy activities in coordination with the Science, Regulatory and Government Affairs team. Develop key messages and engagement plans for regulatory affairs, including memorandums, briefing documents, and policy submissions. Organise and attend meetings with third parties to represent the company’s positions and build relationships with external stakeholders. Coordinate with European colleagues to brief, analyse, and prepare for European-wide regulatory developments affecting Ireland and, where relevant, the United Kingdom.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Political science and/or Law degree from a recognized university; postgraduate education in a government relations-related discipline (e.g., Law, Political Science, Public Affairs, International Relations) preferred. Additional education in corporate communications, food science, or equivalent international experience is a plus.
  • Proven professional experience in a regulatory role, law firm, public affairs/government relations agency, international corporation, or similar institution (experience in the food sector is a plus).
  • Excellent written and oral English communication, with the ability to interact at high business and stakeholder levels and under pressure. Ability to build trust and promote confidence externally and internally.
  • Results-driven self-starter who can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced regulatory environment. Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and judgment skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the UK regulatory environment for foods and FMCG, including packaging and sustainability, and knowledge of UK food law, food science, and sustainability topics.
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations and educational tools; strong relationship-building and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to prioritise dynamic workload and meet deadlines; high resilience and flexibility; willingness to travel on short notice.
