Red Bull UK is currently recruiting for an Esports and Gaming Manager to be based in London, UK. The Esports & Gaming Marketing Manager (Players) role will be to drive and manage a key part of Red Bull UK's marketing programme, giving Wings to the world's most exciting and talented gamers. Through strategic planning, a high level of execution, meaningful partnerships and impactful storytelling, you will connect with relevant consumers and highlight the relevant occasions and functional benefits of Red Bull. The individual will lead the implementation of the UK gaming strategy around signed players to deliver outcomes based on a yearly business planning cycle. Innovative and credible plans that utilise the whole player portfolio and the Red Bull Gaming Sphere facility will be core to the position. The role also presents significant scope to explore innovation and present new opportunities in gaming & esports that will allow Red Bull to reach new consumers and stay top of mind across new and diverse UK audiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • PLAYER MANAGEMENT: Own the gaming and esports player (athlete) programme. This includes managing a world class Player portfolio, ensuring they know, love and consume Red Bull and are best in class at representing the brand on and offline. Bring the most out of partnerships with Players, be it on the esports stage, on stream, or in the real world. Act as the central point of contact on all player related topics within the business. Manage day to day stakeholder interactions internally and externally with close regard to player availability, needs, project delivery and reporting. Negotiate contracts, including performance expectations and commercial rights. Identify and scout new talent across esports pros and gaming creators to maintain a world class roster. Develop 365 activation plans including marketing, communications, and performance activity.
  • STRATEGY: Work with the UK and Global teams to further develop and implement our long-term gaming player and seeding strategy to consistently meet key marketing priorities across the business. Build a locally relevant network of gamers, influencers, co-creators, esports teams, third-party organisations and collectives within the world of Gaming, ensuring that we partner with the right people to drive Red Bull support and attribution within the UK.
  • PLAYER PROJECT: Lead and deliver ambitious and impactful player-led projects that bring their ideas to life in accordance with established business plans. This can manifest in real world projects at significant scale. Work closely with signed players to guarantee their engagement and enjoyment, alongside project credibility within the scene. Form strong internal relationships to maximise involvement & support across departments. Report results, workflows and player experience to understand key learnings for future activations.
  • CONTENT: Work with the Red Bull Media Network to ensure we grow reach, brand preference and product consideration by delivering new, attributable content ideas within gaming that achieve strong viewership and engagement across owned and earned channels.
  • PRODUCT SEEDING: Lead the national product seeding programme, ensuring that relevant people from a diverse range of gaming disciplines receive and understand the benefits of our product, consuming Red Bull cans in key moments of need for the brand. Maintain organisation and updates of the established product and cooler distribution systems to an excellent standard.
  • CREATIVITY & IDEATION: Contribute regularly to creativity and innovation within the UK gaming team. Develop unique, disruptive ideas and formats that help grow Red Bull's presence in the UK Gaming space. Support the creation of annual project plans and their presentation to leading internal stakeholders.

EXPERIENCE

  • At least 4 years of experience in marketing roles that rely on project management, marketing strategy, event production, talent management and community building.
  • Strong experience managing high profile talent, preferably within gaming.
  • Experience implementing product marketing activity to make an impact on brand awareness, brand preference and consumption.
  • Proven track record of delivering premium events and/or projects at scale.
  • Extensive knowledge of the UK gaming & esports landscape, as well as emerging trends.
  • Strong influencing skills with experience engaging diverse sporting stakeholders.
  • An understanding of brands & how they operate in the product marketing space.
