We’re looking for a skilled Microsoft Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to build and support BI solutions that drive informed decision-making across the organisation.
The ideal candidate will have solid expertise in Power BI, SQL Server, and SSIS, along with strong experience in data modelling, ETL workflows, and translating data into meaningful insights for stakeholders.
Main responsibilities of the role:
Power BI Development: Build and maintain interactive dashboards, develop robust data models and DAX calculations, and ensure high-quality, optimised visual reporting.
SQL Server Expertise: Write and optimise complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures to support efficient data access and performance.
ETL & SSIS Management: Design and maintain reliable ETL processes using SSIS to integrate data from various sources, ensuring consistency and data quality across systems.
Business Insight & Collaboration: Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver meaningful insights, contributing to BI strategy and data governance efforts.
Documentation & Governance: Create and maintain technical documentation, provide user support, and act as the subject matter expert for Power BI and SSRS environments.
System Support & Enhancement: Oversee BI tool governance, assist with upgrades, and support continuous improvement of reporting systems and infrastructure.
Essential attributes for success:
Extensive practical experience with Power BI, including data modelling, Power Query, and DAX development.
Strong command of Microsoft SQL Server, with expertise in T-SQL, stored procedures, and query performance optimisation.
Proven ability to design and implement ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
Good understanding of data warehousing concepts, including dimensional modelling techniques.
Familiar with BI performance tuning and applying best practices to ensure efficient data solutions.
