Pushing boundaries is in our DNA!

In this role, you’ll get hands-on with physical testing to prove out cutting-edge Powertrain systems from individual components to full PU. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Play an active role in the day-to-day function of the team, assisting with the mechanical, electronic, and software-based aspects of dyno preparation and operation.
  • Designing and implementing upgrade projects on our test rigs/dynos for complete powertrain: PU’s, transmission, subsystems and single components.
  • Integrating equipment and instrumentation to our dyno data acquisition, monitoring, and control systems.
  • Developing CAD competency using NX, to complete design of parts for manufacture. Our wide-ranging projects include electrical loom, mechanical, and PCB design.
  • Hands-on physical build, implementation of projects, upgrades and designed assemblies.
  • Analysing PU and Dyno Data for fault finding where necessary.
  • Collaborating closely with Technical and Test teams to deliver world-class engineering solutions.
  • Gaining direct exposure to the 2027 Formula 1 season and contributing to the future of Red Bull Powertrains.

We’re looking for passionate, curious, and driven undergraduates who are eager to push the limits of engineering innovation in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. If you're ready to take on real responsibility, solve real-world engineering challenges and contribute to the future of Red Bull Racing’s success on track, this is your opportunity.

Expected knowledge, experience & attributes of the successful candidates:

  • Knowledge and experience from at least one year of undergraduate study on an Engineering degree course.
  • Ability to demonstrate a genuine passion for engineering through practical involvement in extra-curricular projects, previous placements, or work experience.
  • Familiarity with CAD software for Electrical, Electronic and/or Mechanical design (training will be provided).
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working in a team environment.
  • A solid background in electronic systems, ideally automotive based.
  • Experience with handling and analysing data from simulations or physical tests, and confidence in preparing high-quality technical documentation.
  • Ability to break complex technical problems down, and investigate issues logically and methodically.
  • Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to follow best practice and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
