Red Bull Powertrains are seeking an experienced Technical Buyer to join our team, driving the future of motorsport innovation. The position is based at our state‑of‑the‑art engineering and manufacturing facility in Milton Keynes.
As the Technical Buyer you will be responsible for driving the procurement process for Power Unit components, managing key supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely and cost‑effective sourcing of parts and services required for our high‑performance Power Units.
Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement process for designated Power Unit components, ensuring the sourcing of materials, services, and manufacturing processes required to meet the needs of the team.
- Identify suitable suppliers from the RBPT‑approved supplier base, place purchase orders and negotiate the best combination of quality, delivery, and price.
- Expedite component progress, proactively addressing potential delays and using your manufacturing experience to overcome supply issues.
- Identify capacity shortfalls within the current supplier portfolio and source new solutions to meet future demands.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring accurate and up‑to‑date information in the manufacturing system.
- Support the budget planning and cost monitoring processes as required, helping to manage expenditure across the department.
- Be a focal point of support and advice for the team on procurement matters.
- Work efficiently and independently, ensuring tight deadlines are consistently met.
- Actively contribute to continuous improvements and innovation within the procurement process.
Requirements
- Proven experience in the successful procurement of low‑volume, high‑complexity, mechanical components for internal combustion engines (ICE).
- A strong technical understanding and ability to interpret technical drawings and manufacturing processes.
