We’re looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead the specification, design, and integration of complex electrical systems across high-performance automotive and motorsport platforms.
You'll own system-level design, drive technical delivery, and mentor junior team members - all while ensuring engineering excellence under tight timelines.
Key Responsibilities Lead design and release of electrical systems and sub-systems (e. g., wiring harnesses, sensors, control units, power distribution, communication networks).
Have proven experience gathering and understanding project requirements, creating requirements and specification documents and generating engineering reports.
Define system architectures, interface requirements, and integration strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams (Mechanical, Aero, Vehicle Dynamics, etc.).
Produce and check schematics, harness drawings, and 3D routings using Siemens Capital and NX.
Own parts from concept to release, managing DFMEA, DVP, BOMs, cost, and mass targets.
Work closely with planning, procurement, suppliers and manufacturing to deliver parts to spec, on time, and right first time.
Support vehicle build, test, and commissioning activities – including fault finding and rapid issue resolution.
Coach and review work of junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement in tools and process.
Required Skills and Experience Minimum 6 years of experience in electrical system design for motorsport, automotive, aerospace, or high-performance sectors.
Strong understanding of low-voltage automotive electrical systems and relevant communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
Expert in wiring harness design, routing, and system packaging.
Proficient in Siemens Capital and Siemens NX.
Working knowledge of industry quality and safety standards.
Proven delivery under tight deadlines in high-pressure environments.
Capable of taking technical ownership and driving projects independently.
Preferred Experience with hybrid or EV platforms.
Trackside or test rig support experience.
Soft Skills Clear communicator, confident in cross-discipline collaboration.
Pragmatic problem solver with strong attention to detail.
