In a rapidly changing regulatory environment, you will be required to apply physics from first principles and knowledge of cutting-edge technology to create high-performance PU hardware. We are looking for creative Mechanical Engineers to join the PHP (ERS Power unit Hybrid Pack) Design Team.

Key responsibilities of our Mechanical Design Engineers:
  • Delivering Engineering solutions to the agreed specification, program plan and cost.
  • Investigating, containing and resolving faults to ensure there is no negative impact to the running of Power Units.
  • Creating, collating, and communicating the Engineering direction to the key stakeholders.
  • Creating and releasing detailed engineering models and technical drawings using Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
  • Removing mechanical limitations to performance development and deployment.
  • Actively contributing to the team's and department's development.
Essential competencies for our Mechanical Engineers:
  • Previous experience in developing detailed requirements from an Engineering scope.
  • Competence in using one of the main CAD packages to produce 3D models and 2D Engineering drawings.
  • Working experience in delivering Engineering direction when presented with imperfect data.
  • Mechanical (or similar discipline) Engineering degree or equivalent qualification or experience.
  • Experience of successful fault investigation, containment, and rectification.
  • Experience in designing for manufacture to improve quality, reduce cost and reduce lead time without sacrificing performance.
  • Designing from clean sheet using first principles.
  • Previous experience of designing high-performance high-power electrical systems for motorsport along with an understanding of the mechanical integration of high voltage components would be advantageous but not essential.
