Your focus in this maternity cover Reward Payroll & Benefits Manager role will be to deliver operational excellence, enhance employee experience, and ensure smooth cross-functional workflows across Payroll, Benefits, Data, Planning, HR, and Finance. This is a pivotal internal role responsible for managing our payroll, benefits, planning and data teams while retaining the capability to get involved and support directly in busy periods as required.
Responsibilities
- Accountability for overseeing and leading the company\\\'s payroll operations. Leading and managing the Payroll Team, balancing priorities and resources overseeing the monthly payroll cycle.
- Review the Payroll Team’s preparation of year-end returns including P11Ds, P60s, and EOY accounts
- Support the Payroll and Finance Teams on reconciliations, accounting entries, and statutory submissions (including HMRC).
- Guide and lead the Benefits Team with the end-to-end pensions processes including enrolments, opt-outs, contributions, and compliance with auto-enrolment requirements.
- Oversee the Benefit Teams administration of the Group’s employee benefits including private healthcare, cycle-to-work, car scheme and life assurance schemes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience of payroll processing (ideally from an in-house payroll environment) and overseeing payroll processing
- Experience with pensions administration and employee benefit schemes.
- Experience leading Reward projects, including Compensation, Benefits, Salary Review and Recognition, with a clear understanding of best practices
- Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance in payroll and benefits sectors, with strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
- HRIS proficiency, with experience of working with a Data Team and Planning Team to analyse and interpret data to inform reward, planning and HR decisions.
