The Red Bull Powertrains Engineering Academy gives elite graduates the chance to work at the forefront of performance engineering, collaborating with some of the most innovative minds in motorsport. Expect to be thrown into real‑world challenges that will test your intellect, creativity and resilience, all while rotating through critical departments within Red Bull Powertrains.

As part of this scheme, each graduate will follow a series of rotations designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of power unit development. In Test Engineering, you’ll be challenged to combine hands‑on testing with the practical and pragmatic design and development of fixtures and rigs across ICE and ERS specialisms. Within Durability & Performance, you’ll help strike a balance between durability, performance, and trackside operational requirements to ensure the power unit keeps the Red Bull teams battling at the front of the grid. The Performance & Control rotation will immerse you in full‑cycle performance deployment and development, working alongside experts focused on maximising power unit performance from concept to track. Finally, in Data Insights, you’ll need an analytical mindset to successfully rotate between data science, engineering software, and cutting‑edge advanced measurement specialisms to drive innovation and precision in the power units.

These rotations will equip you with a multidisciplinary foundation as you carve out a career within Red Bull Powertrains and contribute to Red Bull’s relentless pursuit of innovation and competitive advantage in Formula One.

To be considered for the RBEA:

  • Bachelor’s Honours Degree in Engineering, Mathematics or Physics (minimum 2:1)
  • A demonstrable passion for engineering through personal projects, competitions, or practical experience
  • A solid understanding of engineering principles and the ability to apply mathematical methods to solve real‑world problems
  • Familiarity with specialist modelling and analysis tools such as CAD, FEA, CFD, or system modelling
  • Experience with handling and analysing data from simulations or physical tests, and the ability to confidently prepare and present high‑quality technical documentation
  • Positive, can‑do, attitude and willingness to continually expand your professional knowledge and develop technical skills
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working in a team environment
  • Curiosity, creativity and the courage to challenge convention allied to a relentless desire to push performance boundaries
