Red Bull Powertrains is offering an incredible opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our ERS Production team as we head into our first‑ever racing season with a Red Bull‑designed power unit. These roles will be a key part of the Team which is responsible for the mechanical design of tools for cell preparation, subsystem and battery cell testing along with MGU manufacturing and build.
Responsibilities
- Designing cutting‑edge production equipment, bespoke jigs and precision tooling
- Finalising, validating and releasing robust engineering drawings
- Working closely with the Production Engineering Team Leader to define realistic project timelines and deliver on them
- Ensuring every design meets the highest Design Office standards
- Planning, organising and overseeing rig testing to prove out performance
- Interpreting test data, identifying opportunities for improvement and driving enhancements
- Presenting clear, structured reports that translate complex findings into actionable insights
Qualifications
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience designing metallic components
- Strong understanding of core mechanical design principles, including machining, fixings, sealing, fabrication and surface treatments
- Ability to take designs from concept through to fully detailed drawings
- Proficiency with CAD tools, ideally Siemens NX
- Beneficial experience with lithium‑ion batteries, cell testing or cell manufacturing equipment
- Confidence working in cross‑cultural environments and collaborating effectively within a team, while also operating independently when needed
- Willingness to travel occasionally, both domestically and internationally
