Red Bull Powertrains is the newest and most exciting addition to the Red Bull Technology Campus in Milton Keynes. As we continue our journey to develop championship-winning Formula 1 power units, we are looking for Dyno Test Technicians to join our Test Operations Group.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the cutting edge of Powertrain development, using world-class facilities and technology to validate everything from individual components to full electrified powertrains.

Working within a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment, you’ll be hands-on with advanced test systems, automation tools, and the latest testing methodologies — helping to extract maximum performance and reliability from our power units.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Install Unit Under Test (UUT’s) on advanced test beds of varying types
  • Responsible for instrumentation and data logging of the UUT’s
  • Ensuring test programs are completed with high attention to accuracy and efficiency
  • Identifying faults within the dyno area and pro-actively work on the resolution
  • First line analysis and interpretation of test results, including fault identification of the UUT’s and /or test rigs, reporting issues appropriately
  • Identify inefficiencies in current process and deliver improvements
  • Operating facility and test equipment in line with work instructions and pre-determined procedures
  • Maintain test dyno run logs to monitor test bed efficiency

What We’re Looking For

  • An apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 vocational qualification or higher in Mechanical or Motor Vehicle Engineering and relevant technical experience
  • Strong knowledge of operating modern automated test equipment
  • High understanding of motor vehicle technology and knowledge of F1 Powertrain architecture
  • Familiarity with Power Units, basic electronics and hydraulics systems ideally within a motorsport environment.
  • Experience of using test cell instrumentation and external measurement devices
  • Strong practical skills with good manual dexterity
  • Previous experience using engine and/or powertrain test beds in a top-class racing environment will be very beneficial to this role
