Red Bull Technology are inviting candidates to apply for Industrial Student Placement positions within Vehicle Performance Group. There are three positions available: Suspension, Simulation, and Tyres.
The positions are ideal for students enrolled in Mechanical, Aeronautical or Automotive Engineering courses who have a strong interest in vehicle performance and data analysis. Candidates will be required to demonstrate:
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- In-depth knowledge of vehicle dynamics principles.
- Experience with programming/data-science (Python and Matlab skills would be advantageous).
- Good written and face-to-face communication.
The successful candidate will develop skills in problem solving, creativity, teamwork, planning, innovation, and communication. Each position will have a different specialisation, but in all cases will require working closely with the rest of the Vehicle Dynamics group, as well as the wider business (including Red Bull Powertrains). Specific tasks likely to be undertaken in all positions include:
- Validating models against track data and developing our models to reduce errors.
- Providing predictive performance analysis prior to each event, and for longer-term goals like future car concepts.
- Supporting real-time and ad-hoc data analysis of race and test events.
- Developing automated routines and processes for data analysis and metrics generation to improve our efficiency.
- Utilising design-of-experiments methods and existing toolsets to explore the vehicle design space.
- Improving the visualisation of data so that the wider company can quickly and accurately understand our conclusions.
The Vehicle Dynamics workload is tightly coupled to the Race calendar and during the racing season there will be a strong bias towards preparing for the upcoming events and analysing recent performance. During the off-season, projects will switch towards longer term work, and successful applicants should expect larger, more complicated projects which lay the foundation for future successes in years to come.
The placement will be for 1 year, starting in the summer of 2026. To be considered for this Student Placement, please apply to this advert and submit both your CV and a one-page Cover Letter. Applicants demonstrating the necessary skills and experience will be invited to undertake a technical exam followed by an online interview for the final short-listed candidates.
Not only is this a fantastic opportunity to complete your student placement at our championship winning team, but it is also a great opportunity to work with some of the greatest talents in F1. A good salary is just the start, there are many other benefits too, such as a daily food allowance, free gym access and fitness classes, multiple discounts and offers with our partners, free coffee, unlimited Red Bull and much more!
Application closing date: 16:00 (BST) 3rd of October 2025
