We are currently seeking a Wind Tunnel Systems Engineer to work within our Aerodynamics Technology Development group. We welcome applications from engineers just starting their careers or those with more experience in the field. The group’s remit is research and development of tools for aerodynamic development. In this role you will be an integral part of our multi‑disciplinary design team, involved in a variety of innovative and cutting‑edge projects primarily for our state‑of‑the‑art wind tunnel model and test facilities.
Applicants interested in applying for the above role will be talented, enthusiastic and self‑motivated, with a proactive approach and the ability to learn, maintain and develop new mechanical, electrical, electronic and software systems. The successful applicant will also have excellent communication skills and the ability to work to very tight deadlines within both a team environment and individually, often with minimal supervision.
Reflecting the multi-disciplinary nature of the role, applications will be welcome from candidates who can demonstrate professional or applied academic experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Software development using C#
- Industrial control system development based on Beckhoff TwinCAT or Siemens TIA/Step7
- Development and maintenance of hydraulic systems
- Understanding of how mechanical systems interact and are controlled
- Use and development of metrology solutions used within a wind tunnel environment, e.g. Leica / Polyworks
- Expert knowledge of data acquisition systems typically used in motorsport, e.g. Pi Toolbox / Pi Diablo, Mclaren ATLAS / System Monitor.
