At Red Bull Racing & Technology, we don’t just compete - we innovate, disrupt, and push beyond the limits of performance. We are driven by relentless ambition, cutting-edge technology, and the determination to win at every level.

You will:

  • Play a leading role in the design and development of complex mechanical assemblies, mechanisms, and precision engineering systems, including hydraulic systems, electro‑mechanical systems, and motion/actuation systems, for the Wind Tunnel and Wind Tunnel Model.
  • Own design solutions through the full lifecycle: concept schemes, preliminary design, detailed design, FEA validation, manufacturing liaison, and test/verification support.
  • Translate aerodynamic development requirements into robust and manufacturable engineering solutions, collaborating directly with aerodynamicists, model shop, manufacturing teams, and suppliers, within tight deadlines.
  • Take ownership of all relevant manufacturing and assembly drawings, ensuring GD & T compliance throughout to a high standard.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering standards and methodologies within the group and the wider department.

Technical requirements:

  • Experience designing complex mechanical systems within motorsport, aerospace, defence, robotics, automation, or other high‑performance engineering environments.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD (Siemens NX preferred), including large assemblies, drafting, motion simulation, and electrical/hydraulic routing, sheet metal and FEA.
  • Expert application of GD & T and tolerance stack analysis, to BS 8888 and ISO 1101 standards.
  • Proven FEA modelling and interpretation experience, including static structural analysis, modal and frequency response analysis, and fatigue/durability assessments - not just static checks.
  • Strong machine design knowledge, including mechanisms, bearings, transmissions, structural joints, and precision assemblies.
  • Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes (CNC machining, EDM, fabrication) and materials (specifications, mechanical properties, heat treatments, surface engineering).

Highly desirable:

  • Hydraulic systems design, including hydraulic schematics, HPUs, actuators, valves, servo‑hydraulic systems, and system integration.
  • Mechatronic or robotic system design, including motors, encoders, brakes, sensors, motion control, and electro‑mechanical actuation.

What sets a strong candidate apart:

  • 2+ years' track record of owning complex design packages independently, not just executing detailed design under close direction.
  • Experience working to tight deadlines in a high‑performance environment, where design iteration speed and weight optimisation are critical.
  • A genuinely creative, first‑time‑right approach to problem‑solving, balanced with rigorous engineering discipline (FMEA, design reviews, risk logs).
  • Excellent cross‑functional communication - comfortable presenting design rationale to aerodynamicists and challenging requirements where needed.

At Red Bull Technology, we’re more than a Formula 1 team - we’re a high‑performance innovation hub, pushing the limits of what’s possible. We thrive on big ambitions, bold engineering, and a relentless drive to win. Our success is built on trust, collaboration, and the belief that the best ideas come from those who dare to challenge the norm.

Alongside a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy:

  • Bonus scheme.
  • Private healthcare.
  • A pension scheme.
  • On‑site gym.
  • Free daily food allowance.
  • And many more!

But above all, you’ll be part of a world‑class team, powering cutting‑edge technology and driving championship‑winning cars. Ready to take on the challenge? Apply now and be part of the future of F1.
