Red Bull Technology have exciting opportunities for undergraduate students to spend a year as part of ourElectronics team. The placements will run from the summer of 2026 for one year and offer the opportunity to demonstrate your enthusiasm and apply your knowledge in an open and dynamic environment.
Based on our Milton Keynes campus, this placement opportunity will give you full exposure to real Formula 1 engineering. Working closely with the Design and Production functions of the department, you’ll be producing on-car and off-car hardware solutions to meet the requirements of our racing team and other functions across the business.
The main accountabilities of the role are:
- Designing on-car hardware solutions, pit gear and rig equipment
- Creating loom and sensor drawings, system diagrams, build documentation, process definitions, and 3D CAD models
- The use of a wide range of test equipment in our Test and Inspection facility
- Performing fault investigations on sensors, actuators and systems
- Assisting, where required, in all general workshop and car build tasks
- You should also be prepared to carry out hands-on tasks
You will be supported by experienced Electronic and Electrical Systems Design Engineers as required and CAD Training will be provided.
The successful student will be studying towards an Electrical / Electronics related degree or a Mechanical Engineering degree (preferably with an interest in Electronics) and be highly computer literate. You must be returning to university to study for at least 1 year after your placement year.
