This role is a great fit for someone with a hands-on background, with knowledge of air conditioning, electrics, IT hardware, networking, and data cabling being useful skills, someone who is curious and enthusiastic about working in the tech world but hasn’t necessarily had formal IT training or gone through university.
You’ll be part of the team that keeps the Data Centres running safely and smoothly, especially when it comes to maintaining the right temperature and environment for all the systems inside.
Role responsibilities:

Monitor and maintain Data Centre conditions including power, temperature, humidity, airflow, and cleanliness.

Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on cooling, power, and environmental systems.

Install, move, and cable IT equipment such as servers, storage, and network hardware.

Respond to environmental or infrastructure faults, escalating where necessary.

Manage equipment inventory, labelling, and documentation.

Support compliance with safety, security, and maintenance procedures alongside internal teams and vendors.
Requirements for the role:

Practical experience in hands-on roles (e.g. air conditioning, electrical, mechanical, or facilities work), with the ability to perform physical tasks and use tools.

Adaptable and reliable, with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn in a technical, fast-paced environment.

Solid understanding of IT networking, monitoring tools, and DCIM (Data Centre Information Management) or BMS (Building Management Systems)

Experience working with building infrastructure systems, supporting both IT and facilities operations.

Technically capable with a broad IT foundation, but more hands-on than coding-focused – suited to environments where systems uptime and operational continuity are key.
