For many fans of Formula One, the sport exists between lights and chequered flag on a Sunday afternoon. It begins and ends with the exploits of the drivers on the track. But this is merely the tip of the spear. The reality of modern F1 is that of a complex and intertwined operation, every part of which needs to perform near its limit if success is to be achieved. From the pit crew searching for the ultimate repeatable pit stop, to the inspiration of the designers, the application of engineers and the herculean efforts of an army of fabricators and machinists. Much of our success is thanks to the diversity of thought and spectrum of skill sets held within the team, our ability to recognise unique contributions from individual team members is just a part of why we love what we do.
At Red Bull Powertrains, we’re building the future of Formula 1 power units and we need driven, detail-focused individuals to help us make it happen. We are currently seeking a Production Control Team Lead to play a vital role in delivering operational performance across our process areas. In this role, you will lead a team of Production Controllers, ensuring consistent and efficient processes, high-quality output, and exceptional internal customer service. Acting as the first line of escalation, you will help resolve blockers, clarify priorities, and keep schedules on track. Your focus will be on both people and process, empowering your team while maintaining oversight of job progress through key departments. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where your ability to coordinate, communicate, and stay calm under pressure will make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all jobs are accurately tracked in the Red Bull Powertrains business system, with real-time visibility into status and priority.
- Work closely with your team to implement standardised processes in line with the wider Planning & Control function for job control, schedule accuracy, and load management.
- Take line-management responsibility for Production Controllers, including 1:1s, development planning, and day-to-day team leadership.
- Act as the first escalation point for any delays, resource issues, or delivery risks, keeping jobs on track and stakeholders informed.
- Oversee key jobs through their end-to-end delivery, ensuring priorities are clear and escalated when required.
- Communicate due dates and delivery expectations across the Planning & Control team and the wider business.
- Support broader Production Control activity in line with workflow and scheduler responsibilities.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a production planning, control, or operations coordination role, ideally in a high-performance engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- A clear and confident communicator, able to influence and build relationships across technical and operational teams.
- Comfortable using ERP or MES systems to manage job data and workflow (experience with SAP or similar is a bonus).
Who you are
We are looking for a conscientious and methodical individual who thrives in a team environment while also being self-motivated. The ideal candidate will excel under pressure and be able to meet tight deadlines with a flexible approach to working hours. Strong communication skills are essential, as is the ability to lead, motivate, and inspire the team. This person will be proactive in investigating new technologies and pushing the technical capabilities of the department. They will collaborate closely with all manufacturing departments and designers, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
At Red Bull Powertrains, we believe that success isn’t just about speed, it’s about the team behind the victory. We trust, support, and challenge each other, always pushing for better. We take our work seriously, but not ourselves, knowing that the best results come when we enjoy the journey together.
