Red Bull Powertrains is offering an incredible opportunity for a Performance Development Engineer (Single Cylinder) to join our team as we head into our first-ever racing season with a Red Bull designed power unit. You will be at the heart of our operation, developing and perfecting race-ready performance, playing a crucial role in delivering a power unit capable of competing at the sharp end of the 2026 Formula One grid.
Your role:
- Identify, specify, carry out, and post-process thermodynamic development testing on components and systems.
- Work closely and cohesively with the other members of the Department on the development of components and systems, and ensure tools are suitable for accurately measuring their physical behaviour.
- Develop new methods and techniques to improve the quality, consistency, and efficiency of thermodynamic development testing.
Essential skills:
- A Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in F1 hybrid power unit design is advantageous but high-performance racing engine experience or involvement in high-performance R&D projects is a pre-requisite.
- A high level of Mechanical Engineering competence in both technical and practical applications.
- A thorough understanding of performance thermodynamics.
- Practical knowledge of engine testing methodologies.
