Junior Mechanical Engineer (24-Month Fixed-Term Contract)

At Red Bull Powertrains, we're developing the next generation of Formula One power units and setting new benchmarks for performance, innovation and engineering excellence.

We are looking for a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our ERS Mechanical Design Team, supporting ERS Production Engineering.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and development of cutting-edge Power Unit manufacturing and build tooling while gaining exposure to the full engineering lifecycle in a world-class motorsport environment.

This will give the successful candidate a lot exposure to a high level battery cell testing and battery assembly.

What you'll be doing

  • Support the design, development and continuous improvement of ERS manufacturing and build processes.
  • Collaborate with Design, Production, Manufacturing and Quality teams to deliver high-performance, race-ready solutions.
  • Contribute to engineering projects from concept through to manufacture and trackside application.
  • Help solve complex technical challenges alongside some of the industry's leading engineers.
  • Build strong relationships across Red Bull Powertrains and the wider Red Bull Technology Group.
  • Working with the Product Engineers and support them with production solutions and to maximise quality and allow design freedom to reach the maximum performance.

What you'll bring

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing and production solutions is essential.
  • Experience in Formula One hybrid power units is advantageous; however, experience in high-performance motorsport, racing engines or advanced R&D environments is essential.
  • Proficiency in a major CAD package.
  • Understanding of stress analysis, design for manufacture, design for assembly and GD&T.
