Overview
We are looking for an experienced R&D Support Engineer to be responsible for supporting R&D activities across the Aerodynamics department and providing support for model shop daily activities when required. Primarily based across the Wind Tunnel Engineering and Modelshop groups, but will also support the development of other production groups. Recruitment for this position will take place on a rolling basis, meaning that should the ideal candidate be identified the vacancy will be closed. Responsibilities
- Supporting the build of new wind tunnel models
- Design of R&D related apparatus using Siemens NX; procedure development and report writing
- The assembly, commissioning and running of various rigs and fixtures
- Support R&D activities in Bedford when required, with some weekend work required
- Provide hands-on support to Modelshop during busy periods to relieve pressure, including the preparation of model parts and attending Bedford Wind Tunnel
Knowledge and experience / Qualifications
- Must be proficient in using design software such as Siemens NX Schematics (essential)
- Must have model maker experience (essential)
- Ability to work in a high pressured environment (essential)
- Previous experience of working within F1, Aerospace or Automotive companies (essential)
- Attention to detail (essential)
- Must be able to work autonomously
- Ability to self check workload (essential)
- Have the creative ability to make suggestions where applicable (essential)
- Bachelor degree (optional)
