Red Balloon Aylesbury will be the newest centre within the Red Balloon Educational Trust family and we are seeking a Centre Buisiness Manager to turn our new site into a thriving educational and wellbeing space.

The Centre Business Officer is responsible for coordinating all non-educational activities within the Centre. Working closely with the Head of Centre they provide HR and Marketing, compliance, governance, project management and finance support They ensure the smooth running of the Centre by supporting the Head with management of the Housekeeper/ Cook., * Responsibility for learner registrations and learner files ensuring the accurate admissions register is completed and up to date.

  • Renewing licenses and utilities.

  • Updating relevant calendars.

  • Sourcing and ordering resources and materials for the Centre.

  • Dealing with correspondence and telephone enquiries.

  • Answering the telephone during working hours and passing on messages as required.

  • Recording all staff and learner absences.

  • Responding to requests from students; taxi booking changes, stationery, medicines.

  • Providing tours of the Centre to prospective parents/carers or other professionals where appropriate.

  • Responsible for the annual review of policies. Monitoring policies in conjunction with the Head of Centre and the Chair of Governors.

Human Resources

  • Ensure the smooth administration of human resource functions and adherence to compliance at all times.

Health and Safety

  • Act as the Centre’s lead on all health and safety aspects, liaising with RBET Central Services for support and guidance.

Facility & Property Management

  • With guidance from RBET Central Services, be the onsite lead for the maintenance and security of the Centre, ensuring a safe and secure learning environment at all times.

Finance

  • Liaise with RBET Finance Team to ensure the smooth running of the Centre budget and expenses.

Clerk to the Governors

  • Act as the Clerk to the Local Governing Board.

  • Ability to set clear personal and professional boundaries;

  • Suitable to work with young people, to include an enhanced DBS check;

  • Listens to and communicates with individuals and groups professionally, clearly and supportively. Is aware of the need for confidentiality, tact and sensitivity;

  • Responds positively to unexpected changes in the routine of the Centre and to any new requests that may arise ;

  • Manages personal priorities, pressures and workload in an efficient, proactive and effective way;

  • Experience managing and operating clerical/ administrative/ financial and organisational systems.
