Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Delivery Driver role based in South Shields.
The Delivery Driver is responsible for safely loading, transporting, and delivering goods to customers according to scheduled routes and delivery instructions.
Daily tasks include performing vehicle safety checks, verifying delivery documentation, handling goods carefully, and obtaining delivery confirmations.
The role involves interacting with customers in a professional manner, answering basic product or delivery questions, and reporting any delivery issues or delays to the team.
The Delivery Driver also supports warehouse operations as needed, such as assisting with stock movement or basic equipment handling, while following all company safety and compliance procedures.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Experience or willingness to be trained in forklift operation and safe handling of goods, following all safety guidelines.
- Ability to support basic sales activities, such as promoting products or services during deliveries when appropriate.
- Background or familiarity with food & beverage distribution, including handling and transporting products safely, is beneficial.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and confidence driving delivery vehicles.
- Good time management, reliability, and attention to detail in completing routes and documentation.
- Physical ability to lift, move, and load products throughout the workday.
- Willingness to follow training, company procedures, and health and safety regulations.
