This is a newly created hybrid role, leading a team to ensure young people with SEN gain the skills to thrive in employment. It is an established team within a growing service. Your manager has been in post for years and now needs two Programme Managers to oversee London operations. The charity delivers Supported Internships – a blend of classroom learning, functional skills and job coaching with real work placements. These programmes give young people with special educational needs the support to gain skills, build confidence, and move into paid jobs.

You will manage a Programme Coordinator, who in turn oversees Tutors, Job Coaches and Employer Engagement staff. Your focus will be to:

  • Coach and mentor Programme Coordinators to deliver high‑quality internships
  • Support classroom learning, functional skills and job coaching standards
  • Monitor programme performance, quality, and compliance with ESFA/Ofsted
  • Build partnerships to generate referrals and employer placements
  • Use data and insights to drive improvements and positive outcomes

To apply, you must have experience managing teams in educational provisions regulated by Ofsted. Ideally, you will also have experience of managing SEND provision and/or employment support (though this is not essential). This role could suit someone with senior leadership experience in education, apprenticeships, or further education. You might previously have worked as a Deputy Head, Quality Manager, Curriculum Manager, Centre Manager, or SEND Lead.
