You will be working with learners aged 16-24 with SEND and EHCPs, supporting them to develop their Maths, English, and employability skills in a practical, real-world context. The role combines Functional Skills delivery with job coaching, making it a great fit for someone with strengths in either (or both).

Each morning, you will typically deliver short, focused Functional Skills sessions (Entry Level to Level 2) in small groups, helping learners build confidence and achieve recognised qualifications. Following this, learners attend local work placements (such as retail and hospitality settings), where you will support them in developing workplace skills, confidence, and independence. Learners return later in the day to reflect on their experiences, providing further opportunities for coaching and support.

Delivery is a mix of group sessions and 1:1 support, both face-to-face and occasionally remote, with a strong emphasis on adapting learning to meet individual needs. Working hours are typically 9:00am - 5:00pm, with time allocated for delivery, learner support, planning, and administration.

  • Deliver Functional Skills Maths and English up to Level 2 in an engaging and practical way
  • Support learners with SEND through tailored teaching and coaching approaches
  • Contribute to quality assurance processes and meet performance targets/KPIs
  • Has experience delivering or supporting Functional Skills Maths and/or English
  • Has worked with young people with SEND or additional learning needs
  • Has experience in employability support or job coaching (highly desirable)
  • Has strong communication and relationship-building skills
